About the Mathematical Modelling Department
The Mathematical Modelling Department was founded in 1995 after the division of the Mathematical Department into two. Prof. habil. Dr. Raimondas Čiegis became the head of the Department.

The two main aims of the department are to train Mathematical science professionals carrying out the Undergraduate and Master "Technomathematics" programs (see "Technomathematics") and teaching basic and specialised mathematical courses to students at other faculties.

The academic research at the Mathematical Modelling Department focuses on methods of numerical solution of differential equations and on mathematical modelling of complex engineering and technology problems.

The department carries out Undergraduate "Technomathematics" study program.
